Open Classroom Leadership Magnet has been sharing the Conejo Elementary School campus in Thousand Oaks since 1993. Both schools share playground and lunchtime, and they use the same services such as the library, and music and computer teachers.
But the Open Classroom Leadership Magnet has elements that are special to that setting.
"First of all, the high parent participation program," said Dena Sellers, principal for both schools. "Each parent must participate for a minimum of 90 minutes per week. Open Classroom has its own booster club (Scope) that raises money and helps provide resources just for Open Classroom....
