Celebrated author and education reformer Alfie Kohn speaks at the Thousand Oaks High School Performing Arts Center. His topic, "Too Much Achievement, Too Little Learning," deals with the perils of an over-emphasis on standardized testing and grade achievement. The pressure to perform can place undue stress on children, yield harmful long-term effects on their overall well-being, and create a deeply anti-intellectual environment.
